Apartment Review
Great location and amenities - Management is FLAKY
Review Date: 10/18/2003

We have been living here for several months, and love the central location and the amenities the building has to offer. This is probably one of the more expensive buildings to live in, in San Diego. On the upper floors there are incredible views of Coronado Island and the Ocean; the lower lofts have great patios, but be prepared to spend some monthly cash! It is a prestigious address and very sought after by the privileged few that are lucky enough to live here, but at this level, you would think that the management company had their act together. It can be very difficult to get the building manager to follow up on basic improvements such as painting and up keeping, and the communication is sometimes misleading and unclear. For instance, You have to wait several months after you move in to get a parking spot in the building itself, and give you are issued an interim parking spot in the adjacent Quality-In Hotel, which is just across the street, but inconvenient when you have packages or in a rush; this was not mentioned before signing the lease. We also had to wait several weeks because our apartment had to be painted, but when the unit was rendered, the windows were filthy with a layer of soot and the paint was dingy and seemed as though all that was painted were the closets, if at all. They quickly dispatched the buildings housekeeper whom was very nice, but her cleaning skills needed improvement resulting in us having to clean everything again ourselves. Pets are allowed in the building, but management does not take the time to stress to its tenants to walk their pest away from the premises resulting in areas of the building that reek of dog urine. Overall, we enjoy living here and think that the amenities make up for some shortcomings, but most of the management and custodial staff need replacing!
