Apartment Review for Summerset Village - San Diego, CA

I lived here for one year (2007 to 2008). First of all, the management was extremely rude and was not at all helpful. My fridge broke in first month and they didnt fix it for 8 days. When I asked then to change, they were extremely rude to me. When I threatened them that I'll leave the apartment (as this was my first month) they replaced it the next day. Secondly, the rent was way too much considering the condition of the apartments. These apartments are around 30 years old and appliances here have the same age. I was playing around $1,550 per month. Because of old appliances, my electricity bill was around 80 to 120, and water bill was around 60-80. I ended up playing more than 1700 per month. When I moved out of the apartment, they charged me $330 for cleaning and repair. They did move out inspection after I left and charged for repairing stuff that I left in good condition, and when I discussed it with them they said that its my fault that I didnt schedule inspection before leaving, even though I gave them a notice one month before leaving. If you have to move-in here, make sure you compare the rent with other apartments, as they are way over priced. Expect high utility bills. Expect an increase of around $100 in rent after one year if your lease ends in one year, and expect around $300 for move out repair and cleaning. DONT FORGET TO TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING WHEN YOU MOVE IN !!!
